Washington (April 29, 2015) – Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, released the following statement today after a new resolution of disapproval was introduced in the Senate to roll back the Federal Communications Commission’s recently-passed Open Internet Order.  Senator Markey is the author of the first net neutrality bill introduced in the House of Representatives.

“The FCC’s Open Internet order is an historic victory for consumers, innovators, and entrepreneurs – anyone who counts on the Internet to connect to their community and the world.  I will oppose any attempts to undo or undermine these strong net neutrality protections.”
