Washington (October 5, 2015) – Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) released the following statement today on the deaths of two airmen from Hanscom Air Force Base.  Senior Airman Nathan Sartain of Pensacola, Florida and 1st Class Airman Kacey Ruiz of McDonough, Georgia died last week when their U.S. Air Force C-130J military transport plane crashed in eastern Afghanistan.  They were deployed out of Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts.

 

“I was deeply saddened to hear that two airmen from Hanscom Air Force Base were killed in Afghanistan.  My condolences go out to their family, friends, and fellow airmen.  The people of Massachusetts will remember their service to the United States Air Force, and as a nation, we will always remember their sacrifice. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hanscom community.”
