The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will create 4 MILLION JOBS ...

... An estimated 500,000 of these will be green jobs that put Americans to work in renewable energy and efficiency-related jobs that reduce our dependence on foreign oil, cut pollution and save consumers and businesses money on energy bills.

The stimulus package represents a step toward re-powering America, doubling our renewable energy production and investing $69 billion in jobs that put shovels in the ground and windmills in the sky. It jump starts waste-cutting efficiency projects and invests in desperately needed advanced battery technologies to ensure the clean cars of tomorrow are built here at home.

The Select Committee held a hearing on the jobs potential of a green recovery package, featuring green jobs champion Van Jones. CLICK HERE to learn about the hearing and watch his testimony.
